This handy size bench plane
is probably one of the most widely used of the
smoothers which, as the name suggests, is designed to present
you with the
finished surface after other planes have done the ’donkey
work’. Capable of
taking the finest cut from grain structures that test you,
the Lie-Nielsen No.
4 is ready to work straight from the box, but will respond
with perfection
when you fine tune it to your own exacting needs. Supplied
with manganese
bronze or ductile iron body, bronze lever cap and frog cryogenically
treated
blade and cherry handles.
