Low Angle Planes
have been used primarily for end grain work, and are frequently
known as ‘butchers block planes’ alluding to
their fine quality of cut on end grain such as found in ‘butchers
block’ constructions, but they will also cut exceptionally
well on long grain work set fine to over come wild grain
figures.
