This multi talented block
plane is designed to deal with hard
woods and difficult timbers using a combination of a shear
cutting
action from the skew blade, the low angle approach with the
blade
bedded at an angle of 12° and the extra weight of the
bronze body.
An excellent tool for trimming off assembled joints, improving
fit
and cleaning up, particularly on end grain. Additionally you
can
quickly convert the No. 140 to rebating by removing a side
panel
and mounting the adjustable fence. Beautifully presented in
polished manganese bronze, stainless steel and cherry wood
with
a cryogenically treated A2 tool steel blade - a joy to use,
being
the answer to many difficult problems and a joy to own.
